I feel like I'm at my wits end. I teach self-contained classes and according to the ISBE website my classes shouldn't be more than 8 students unless I have an aide - then it can be 10. I have no aide and most of my classes are around 14 kids. Some with behavior plans that are only out of our behavior room setting for my class... A company didn’t follow through with a scheduled intro phone call. I emailed during the time scheduled to see if something had come up & after as well to reschedule. No one answered me or followed up. I can’t help but feel like this is a little red flag. If you can’t follow though on an intro call… what’s your HR & the rest of the company doing? 😬

During interview I was speaking to the hiring manager. Felt interview was going well. He seemed impressed by my answers, excited by my skills, and even gave me a tour of the office. At the end, he asked about my home life. When I spoke of my 3 young kiddos, the manager got a little taken back and replied Oh you have children? I said yes ages 3, 5, and 7. He then proceeded to ask me about daycare arrangements and if I can be reliable. Red flag as his demeanor changed and made me feel unworthy.

When you tell your manager you are unhappy and they are excited that you are putting your notice and don't try and make any changes b/c the new person/persons they are lining up will just cleanup and make it better.

Then, they get here and you are left to train them on everything you do and your manager keeps saying "I owe you an apology" because they didn't realize how taxing and mind wrecking most processes you handled were... welcome to corporate
