USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

Also planned for Asian and LGBTQ+ folks next year
My firm had a diversity retreat - for attorneys of color, LGBTQ and attorneys with disabilities
Associate at Orrick here who attended the retreat. It was nice and the firm acknowledged how far it has to go with respect to certain racial/ethnic groups. Content wise it was mostly about business/ career development skill building and hammering home the message of returning to work. But so far, it seems people can still wfh/ stay flexible as they want.
Nothing where I work. But we do have a happy hour on thursdays that's usually just poc from the office. It's not exclusive or official or anything, but the white associates have read the unwritten rule and we do a larger happy hour friday night that includes them too.
I’m at STB and no retreat, but we do have affinity groups and if you’re interested in being more involved in determining bigger issues like talent pipeline, there’s the diversity advisory council.
I heard Gibson Dunn just had a retreat for POC.
My firm just had an all-affinity group retreat. Most of the groups are for attorneys of color but there are also LGBTQ, veterans, and attorneys with disabilities groups.
That sound amazing. I wish my firm would do something like this. Has your firm always had that or is it something they have recently started doing?
My firm is having its diversity retreat in a few weeks. As far as I can tell, it's only for people of color, which leaves out the LGBTQ and general women's affinity groups. Odd choice in my eyes, but we'll see what it's like!
My law firm did one in Chicago earlier in March. It was a huge hit apparently and I know more and more law firms are starting to do it.
