I am joining EY GDS in a month, have another offer from a captive bank. Total cash component is higher from captive but EY is providing higher VPB (15%). Does EY pay the variable as mentioned in the offer? Any inputs would help in choosing me the best offer for me? Also if I join next month, when will I get the bonus for the year? In March 2022 or in 2023?

Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!
