During my interview process I clearly stated my salary expectations of 95k-105k. They came back with an offer at 80k. Received an offer from Amazon but I'm concerned about negotiating hard and ending up with an offer that's on the higher end of the pay band when compared to the rest of the (future) team. My concern is during an economic downturn, it would be easier to let me go if the team needs to be downsized. When non-ad ppl ask you what do you do? In terms of title; do you tell them “copywriter”? Or immediately assume they dont know and might confuse it with copyright infringement, and just end up telling them that you’re a writer or a creative director, and skip the hassle

Jumping off a related topic: am I delusional to not care about jr/int/sr level titles? I've been a "copywriter" since the day I started and steadily gained responsibility, autonomy, and money. Happy with career progression, always getting juicier assignments, work directly with ECDs/CCOs... am I missing something crucial? Is my case an anomaly? Or is it okay not to push for a title upgrade?

Would a full time copywriter salary be higher for client side vs. agency side? Debating with a couple friends on it. Some say same. Some say lower at each. NYC. I know there are variables but...
