Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? After. Hold off as long as you comfortably can (16 weeks?) if you think raise is imminent. They are unrelated but wouldn’t chance it.
I’d like to think it wouldn’t matter but I’m still gonna vote after. If the raise for some reason doesn’t come, you don’t need the extra stress of wondering if your pregnancy had something to do with it.

After or during the raise conversation. Once you’re at the table getting your raise they aren’t going to “take it back”! Definitely put some thought into any other terms you want to negotiate coinciding with your raise and in support of your new normal w/baby! (Examples = flexibility, rotations, $ or a stipend to supplement wellness needs). All these things factor in even more if the number isn’t what you expect, or deserve. Most employers want to make sure you’re fully engaged in the work and still delivering the goods for them before you head out for leave. Beyond that, good employers want to keep their best employees happy, engaged and interested in coming back after parental leave. Best of luck to you & congrats on all the great news!

I got my raise exactly 5 mins after telling my MD I was pregnant.
