There’s so much to unpack here but yes, the inclusion of Black couples has been ignored. I can’t think of any adds where I’ve seen dark skinned black couples or families. and when they do, there’s an opportunity for blowback, at least online. It suck’s for sure.
I read something about that about two years ago, and it's true, once you think about it you realize how prevalent it really is. Commercials used to show black families, and that hardly happens anymore. I wonder if it's a just a way of ticking more diversity boxes. That would explain it, but not justify it. It seems no one thinks about it, or, even worse, no one thinks that positive images of black families could exist.
