Working for a recruiting firm is basically sales; your product is just talent instead of software, etc. Thats a good way to get experience, and then work your way into a corporate role.
Rising Star
I would highlight your people and sales skills. If you’re pretty sure that you want to go into recruiting, talk about client outreach, generating/qualifying leads, and closing deals, and then draw parallels to sourcing candidates, interviewing them, and receiving signed offers.
Otherwise if you want to go into general HR, speak to your ability to maintain good relationships with clients by solving problems. Then relate it back to solving people problems in a company (e.g. solving ER cases, developing others, conducting trainings).
In terms of career advancement - it’s easier to get pigeonholed if you are only doing recruiting versus generalist HR, but there are still opportunities to move up.
Are you looking to move to HR as in HRBP/Generalist, or Recruiting?
Recruitment is the best "in" to HR from a Sales role. I would suggest starting at a staffing company- they are in need of recruiters and your skills are very transferable
