lol welcome to the practice of law.
Yeah it’s unclear to me what OP thinks is wrong about this. It’s OPs job to do research that supports partners. Also lawyers crib from each other constantly—recycle paper content etc. I don’t see the issue based on the facts provided.
I'll just say it-- this is silly. Pitching is pitching, your firm should and will approach in whatever manner the partner thinks most likely to bring in the work. Usually, the partner is the pitch; their relationships and abilities are the product being sold. You aren't. Showing sophisticated knowledge and thinking can win clients. Mentioning you doesn't.
This isn't a high school art project. This is business. Instead of worrying about outward-facing credit, build skills and relationships and learn the business.
Just ask him how the pitch went. No one bites the hand that feeds them.

The client cares about the partner, and that s/he has Associates able to do the work. Sometimes, the Partner will mention a couple Associates who will be working on the matter. But it is usually the partner with the connection that got the pitch in the first place.
As long as the Partner knows they heavily relied on you, that is the important part. If they think they did it all themself, that’s when you have problems.
Also causes trouble if you hype someone and then they end up not getting staffed on the matter.
It sounds perfectly normal. And yeah I'm a partner, but I did this a lot as an associate and didn't question it - helping prepare pitch materials for a partner is just typical work. It's their pitch and the client is going to hire you or not based on the partner. In any case no client is going to be impressed that you did your job and made a pitch deck.
It could be implicit depending on your situation. Where I’m at, clients wouldn’t want to pay a partner to do research and assume an associate did it
