I cleared the technical rounds at Volkswagen Group for a Data Engineer role in their Data Lab and am now awaiting the offer release. I initially quoted 32 LPA as my expected salary, but HR mentioned they have strict budget constraints and can’t offer beyond 27 LPA with a 1 lakh joining bonus. Meanwhile, I have an offer of 33 LPA from EPAM Systems.
What should I do?

Just saw that Airbnb's salary range for a 2+ years experience Data Scientist in US is 129k -180k USD.
In INR its 95L- 1.4cr. But in India do they pay even 30L to 4 years yoe?
Last year I saw such salary range for 4+ yoe in US. But in India its yet to increase.
In this quarter these companies have started negotiating in the name of US recession. Irony is salary range didn't decrease in the place where the recession is supposed to occur.
All these articles published in India are just to fool them

I heard from my head that there is a lot of slowdown in VW Germany... There is Hiring freeze, level freeze and all ... And soon that will spillover to india. So be prepared for very less hikes in coming cycle :( Also automotive sector in general is struggling with tesla laying off 10% workforce recently. Maybe time to make a move? What do you say fishes?
