Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

I think you’ve done your best. Now, next steps are not under your control. There are lots of moving parts behind the scenes in hiring process. Until you get a written offer I wouldn’t recommend getting hopes too high. Although, you should take a pause and admire your accomplishment, getting your profile in front of VP. I hope you get the job. Best luck!
Discussing compensation with HR is not a verbal offer, its a checklist item in the shortlisting process. Not to discourage you but you will be presented a verbal and written offer at the end if selected.
Thanks! I wanted to get a better understanding of what that mean and where in the process I stood.
How did you get on? Also, can you share how you landed the interview in the first place?
