Can’t say that I was. Sorry to hear that! I might be in that boat next year though. My current mentor is going to another county. She recommended that I just find an unofficial mentor who teaches my content and just ask questions

Have you been asking questions to them directly? They may see that you are doing well so they don't give feedback. Ask them questions or ask them to focus on an area where you believe you need improvement while they are observing.
I feel your pain; I don’t even know who my mentor supposedly was/is!!
I was assigned as mentor because we “both move between school buildings.” What they didn’t consider is that we are never in the same building at the same time. She was also an agriculture teacher who knows nothing about my subject, music. The best advice I have is to find your own support from a variety of places. While there is no one else in my content area at school, I’ve made connections with older/motherly figures and those in the classrooms surrounding mine. They will often be the one you go to for quick questions or bathroom breaks

YES!!!! With no resources and textbooks that are outdated (pushing 25 years on the copyright, for social studies the information is almost irrelevant now). All I do is eat, sleep, lesson plan and teach. I know the first year is the toughest, but this is a complete nightmare. I feel ostracized by the senior teachers and the administration is worse. It is a toxic environment. I have no idea what to do and my evaluation is this week. I have yet to have anyone observe either. I’m terrified I’m losing this uphill battle. And the icing on the cake is that I have large amounts of collaborative students and students with behavior problems who are medicated. I feel as though I have been set up to fail.
