Take a step back, look at the key deadlines/deliverables on your plate between now and when you quit, and prioritize. Start organizing your files and low-key handing them off to others on the team wherever you can.
It felt great to spend time cleaning out old docs and organizing files knowing I was doing it in preparation for leaving. It made me feel better to know my team wouldn’t be totally hosed having to wade through a messy pile of docs when they needed something. It’s also a very low demand activity.
I also started pulling people in my team into more things (for “visibility” or “awareness”) so that when I left, they wouldn’t be totally in the dark on key parts of the project.
And I practiced saying no to things and set boundaries on my time. I took time off- a day here and there. What is the worst that can happen? Your boss is upset? Who cares when you are weeks away from leaving that person in the rear view mirror? It is good to work on saying things like, “I’m at capacity until XX day. I am happy to work on this after then.”
This is great advice! Thanks for all your inputs!!
Easy. Just do the minimum required. And any nonsense from the boss, just brush it off because it doesn’t matter at this point. Once your attitude changes so will the amount of f***s you give!

This is the simple answer but not always easy for overachievers or anxious personalities! But this is the true way to do it, just start doing the minimum even if it pains you. Brush off the passive aggressive comments and just keep your head down and grind it out until you find your new role.
Just say no to more vs making people think you’re working on something and not. If pressed, say you have some stuff going on in your personal life and can’t do extra at this time.
Thanks for your advice. It’s hard when you have a boss who doesn’t know what the word “empathy” means and even if I try to push back, it will backlash on me. I don’t want to put my team in a tough situation but at the end of the day I should prioritize myself. Fortunately, no one will die if I don’t deliver what I committed to deliver.
Day at a time, almost over.
Sometimes you just have to make a conscious choice to care less. Show up, do what you need to do, but don’t put your whole self into it. It’s not always easy to do, but try to remember it’s just a job and you won’t be there much longer.
Take time off...oh I have an emergency to attend to...oh I have a super migrain...oh blah blah.

I feel as if I could have written this post. :(
Same same same. My boss when I first started called me the right hand, I could do no wrong. I can’t even believe how duped I’ve been in believing that - feels like it was done mainly to squeeze info from me and hours - so many hours. I’m mentally exhausted now a few years in and am treated like crap. Even if I respond and agree or confirm a task, they lash out at me as they interpret my positive response as negative. They’ve stolen my ideas and presented them to C levels as their own….meanwhile I get feedback from them that they “want me to continue to influence senior leaders”….but of course that only means they want me to participate in the conversation when it’s something that requires pushback (therefore I don’t look like a team player). I’m totally miserable and envy you for being able to walk out.
Literally the position I’m in now and even the new offer I had just signed thinking I was leaving has been put on a hold. This sucks
Sending you the best vibes! I hope you can make it through!!
I am wondering if the boss is damaging the team with his approach to leadership. If you see that, why not go to HR or his boss ... unless the whole company approaches to staff and its people is this unhealthy...
My boss is the same way. I’m at a toxic company regardless but he’s been reported for sexist and racist behavior (including the use of multiple slurs… in writing) and nothing is done aside from putting a target on my head. It’s so brutal and demoralizing… but I’m interviewing to get out ASAP. I have a hard time quiet quitting because I’m client-facing but it gets easier with practice!
Also, call out sick frequently and keep your head down as much as you can. You’re so close to the finish line!!
Take a LOA and don’t return.
