I did a career pivot from audit (3 yoe) to analytics consulting (now 1 yoe) Have been doing mostly data engineering work over the last year. I’m realizing I want to become more technical and have no interest in functional consulting work, should I try to move to an industry DE role now, or is it worth it to try to stick it out to manager before leaving?

Was hired shortly after graduating in mid-May. Any other new hires willing to talk about their experiences joining a company/organization during the pandemic? Most of my friends were either hired for big companies last summer, or have decided to put off job hunting until the market is less messy.

I was an AE for two years, took a promotion at another agency for SAE for only 8 months and am now being recruited for AS at 80k. I was a Manager at a Big4 doing PM fed work earlier this year. I decided to join a small firm to pursue cloud sales. However, the position is extremely technical in nature and I'm required to speak tech ( kubernetes, openshift, CICD) to potential clients.

I’ve wanted start my own business since I was about 5 years old and can’t wrap my head around what the draw to partner is outside of the high pay. Any insight?

Making the jump to industry. I’ve got 3 final interviews either later this week or early next week, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to give my 2 week’s notice sometime next week.

Problem is I have a vacation scheduled for the week of August 23rd that was approved by my company & the companies I’m interviewing with said I can start after.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title.
