I recently got hired as a new grad in Toronto. I was actually hired to backfill a role that was previously an Employee Experience Specialist, but have a different title because I'm handling employee experience AND some admin duties. The person in my role previously was being paid 70k. I got hired at 60k, which I asked for, but now I know how much they made, I feel like I should've asked for more bc I have more responsibilities. I just got hired, and I'm a new grad, so maybe it's fair? Thoughts?

Visa sponsorship is needed. I foresee a possible negotiation on compensation from Deloitte.

Hello all! I am an associate underwriter in commercial lines for a regional carrier in Boston. I have been in this role for a year. I graduated college in 2019. I was in Sales for a about a year and a half then switched to this role. I make $56 a year. I know my company underpays it’s employees but I am curious how much more I could be making? My white American therapist told me I haven’t found a great partner yet because I keep dating African men but that the culture is plagued with so much toxicity that doesn’t align with my personal values (her assumption, I hadn’t said anything about the culture of 54 countries). She told me to consider myself as not just African (I’m mixed) and be open to people outside my culture.

Lately I’ve been feeling pay by bracket policy is very counter productive. When I came from my prev company, I had salary at the higher bracket due to market correction and novartis offer coinciding. Now after a couple of years, I see that people who were hired before or after me on a lower package have somewhat similar package as me cause of the pay brackets despite me performing better. Should I talk to my manager explaining my predicament? Or should I simply search for another job?
