Google Technical Solutions Consultant interview process... can I expect a process similar to google Software engineering interviews? Or is it less technical?
An ad agency asked me come up with creative concepts for a campaign as a job interview writing test. They are willing to pay me but on a project basis rather than an hourly rate. I’m a junior writer, how much should I charge (I have no clue about freelance rates)?
Hi slalom folks. What's your current PTO given and 401k contribution by the company. Do you ever get big raises since I heard most of you stay at "consultant" level. Example big 4 and ACN will cont
Was told I’d only have one round (4 interviews), each split 50/50 on case/behavioral. This is for an Associate position and will be interviewing with AP/P/SP level. Is this typical? Since I see most people have multiple rounds.
Just joined Deloitte in July out of UG, but want to make move to MBB. Is it a good idea to start applying right away or do I need more experience before making the jump?
One of my employees is the only one in the firm who knows how to use a critical piece of outdated software. I overheard them speaking about accepting a job interview. Should I get them to train another employee?
Hi all! Does anyone have any advice/resources on how to prep for business intelligence roles interviews? For example, data analytics/viz quesions (not necessarily coding on spot but explain how I would approach a data related request). So far I have been answering based on my work experience, but want to do a more systematic prep if possible
Are paid interview prep bootcamps worth it? I see programs that charge hefty sums like 5% of your new salary, but only if you land the job you want. They aren't worth it for lateral moves but could they help me exit consulting to an amazing tech product role?
I love the holiday pie 🥧
in BCG’s Zoom interview guide they’re suggesting to use Zoom’s whiteboard function now - did or has anyone actually been using this instead of pen/paper?
Howdy 🐠 My wife has an interview with Gartner for a Manager, Strategy position within the Global Strategy & Operations Team. Any advice?
if you can choose: 1. audit with definitely (know firsthand from a close friend) amazing company culture - mid market (overtime not encouraged, if you do need to do overtime you get hourly pay for it or can choose to exchange it as holiday, can potentially do secondment to FDD in the future but not guaranteed in terms of timeline 2. FDD with potentially shit company culture (partner scream at you for not rec ing excel sheets properly, sexist comments made - but all these info was from contd’
Anyone have experience using MS Teams chat over Southwest in-flight Wi-Fi? Not planning on being “that person” attending a meeting on a plane, just responding to any MS Teams chats that come my way so I don’t have to take PTO.
3.00 UG gpa (death of a parent, caretaker of the other), 3.95 master GPA both in engineering, 730 GMAT. Have killer ECs, decent WE but not gold. I'm applying to 10 of the T15 in R1, with Cornell as my safety. Should I add more schools that are lower ranked in or just see where I land after R1? Really want to have at least 1 acceptance after R1.
I’m unable to focus on work and I keep dropping the ball on some projects. I hate to put this on my personal life but I’ve experienced three family deaths (including a parent) and a death of a good friend all within the last five months. I feel like I should have taken significant time off but I think now it’s too late with end of the year financials etc. Does anyone have any tips on how to bounce back up?
Do top 10 schools generally fly you out for interviews? Or are they mostly Skype? Or do you have to pay your way to interview in person? Does it depend on the school?
Is it better to wait until promo before switching to other firms? Applying to MBB but worried that if I get the offer I’ll end up switching right before I get my promo from Deloitte. I would likely reset to entry level at MBB either way but the pay would be a substantial bump from my current pay (even after promo). I’m in my second year at Deloitte out of undergrad.
I will never understand grown ups that don’t have children that still choose to vacation at Disney
When you start planning your vacation in excel 🙃 and the worst part is it’s actually making it easier
Interview with ZS SIPA coming up! Is there anything I should keep in mind for the interview? I’m pretty nervous. It’s 3 rounds, Behavioral/Structured Case/Unstructured Case. Thanks!
What's better: senior product manager at Amazon, or Director at a large pharma company? Long term goals are fuzzy, but would like to stick in the health-tech space Comp is about the same
Looking to start some advisory consulting for a small Systems Integrator that I have worked previously when with a larger firm previously. Looking for contract templates that I could leverage as a starting point. Legal Zoom or other options. Welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

Has anyone ever had services done at Planned Parenthood? I need to get a pelvic ultrasound (not pregnancy related) that isn’t covered by my insurance so would be $500 at my current OB... (continued)
How do you think a swap from MBB to big4 strategy would be viewed? Currently in a flagship office of an MBB and there is basically no strategy. There are 9 miserable cost outs / transformations / PMOs for every 1 borderline strategy case. The staffing lottery in my region means you almost always end up working 75 hours+ on some god forsaken project. Contrast that to what I hear about big 4 strategy: lower hours and more strategy exposure as the crappy projects go to the other MC departments
Hey, I have applied to a job at EY for Risk assurance. My academics are pretty good and I'm pursuing ACCA with BCom, with a year of internship experience as well. I have tried to apply but I think a referral would really help. Please dm me for referrals. Would be happy to speak on linkedin as well and send my job ID as well.
Moved to a new place and thinking about getting a corner standing desk. The autonomous one is $1k, so wondering if anyone has found a good, cheaper standing desk for the corner of a room! TYIA
Tip for London US embassy appointments - spend some time refreshing the reschedule date page - it's booked up until March but occasionally someone may cancel / switch - I managed to snag an early October interview today
I had the most charge hours of anyone in my office (over 250 consulting staff) for the 2020 calendar year. Is this something I can/should reflect on my resume that could look good in the interview process?
Hi everyone! I’m a young CPA, relocating to Raleigh. I made the decision to transition into sales after realizing that I want to bring more fun into my career. I’m currently reading sales books, watching Keenan’s YouTube channel, and learning all I can. I’m relentlessly applying for SDR positions but I’m having trouble landing interviews (been applying through LinkedIn). I would appreciate advice from anyone who transitioned from another industry into sales. How did you break the barrier?
To my IT people - can a company track my IMs on Skype? Like....retrieve a IM conversation?

For those that are observing yom kippur, have an easy and meaningful fast. For those with Jewish people on your teams, don’t wish them a “happy Yom Kippur” or ask them to “enjoy the time”- it’s a solemn holiday. It’s also not the responsibility of the Jewish person on the team to teach you about the holiday - you have Google. And it’s really terrible to guilt them for signing off early/taking PTO to observe.
Lots of us are skilled at delivery but most sales books seem to focus on the pitch and closing... What are your best resources for learning to develop and nurture strong, lasting client relationships?
In case you never got to see the New York Times article about air quality in classrooms, I’m posting it here for you. It makes some very important points about creating the safest possible environment for students and teachers. 1. Open windows if it all possible 2. Place air purifier centrally 3. Don’t place fans in a way where the air is pointed at people Have a great year and keep yourself and your students safe! https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/02/26/science/reopen-schools-safety-ventilation.html
Is there a studio in the dmv area where I can go get a holiday photo taken with my husband? We did a photo shoot in the summer and really don’t want a full fledged photo shoot right now. Just a couple of photos in a studio with some sort of Christmas/ holiday set up. They always show stuff like this in movies, wondering if it’s real lol
