Interviewed at Deloitte, PwC and EY for Advisory Senior Consultant role. Deloitte offered $105K (plus $5K bonus), PWC offered $127K (plus $15K bonus) and EY offered $155K (plus $10K bonus). Surprised with the difference in pay between Deloitte & EY for same role. Is Deloitte Advisory paying less compared to other firms? 4.5YOE in Consulting.

Prefer current role. The year I went for manager sucked cos I had to show I could plan/shape a project and then also deliver on that simultaneously as I had no staff support. Long Hours that made me question whether it’s worth it
Now I get to plan projects do some of the heavy lifting but also delegate a lot which makes life easier. I also really enjoy the coaching and development aspect with juniors
Pro
Strangely all the time. Delivering a workstream is comparatively easy. I often wonder if I could just be an sc forever... pay is decent and the work is relatively straight forward. Plus I could probably deliver in 1/2 the time of a typical sc then twiddle my thumbs.
SM/director is significantly better than Manager fwiw. Manager was my least favorite role.
Current. Love the additional autonomy, and the greater level of ownership makes the longer hours more tolerable, ie you feel like you are doing it because you want to not because you are told to (most times).
I'd be curious to hear from Directors on current role vs Manager.
