Like the 7s and 8s are always hard to remember. But, never really had to use it. I just use a calculator.
Ever hear of school house rock? It’s little educational cartoons from the ‘70s. Look them up on YouTube. I know it’s very childish but the best way to learn something like this is making it really simple! Plus the songs are CATCHY 😅

I don’t know them. I was put in an “enriched” math class in fourth grade, and me and a few others would go to a separate classroom for math. I remember the rest of my class memorized their multiplication tables that year.
Us “enriched” kids learned how to use an abacus.
Third grade. 1990-1991. Midwest. I swear we spent half the year having multiplication tables engraved in our memories forever. I know them all.
Your dad didn’t drill math in you through college? Wow, it was pop quiz every day in my house
Nope. But, like I ever been n a situation where I needed it.
Is that common in the US?
I’m married to an American, and she didn’t know her multiplication tables either. It blew my mind because she got through 4 years of college and grad school. And she’s a teacher.
I don’t know if it’s common or not. But, I also don’t want to portray I’m dumb when it comes to math. Like I got a B in college algebra. I think it’s more so that we don’t really need to memorize it since we have calculators. Like I remember memorizing all the presidents in grade school. Now, I forgot.
3rd grade is totally multiplication memorization. Our American kids are 9 and 12 and in 3rd grade have to correctly answer 140 multiplication questions in 7 minutes.
By end of December they are required to be able to do this correctly.
Use it or you'll lose it
