I actually responded once to one of those threatening emails with a note detailing what I was doing to keep up (from bed on home laptop with work one being delivered) with work while undergoing a major thing. I was like, would you like to hire a freelancer to cover this and miss the deadline while you do that or would you like to turn my access back on so I can meet the deadline? CFO intervened and they backed off.

I am so sorry to hear that and hope you’re able to spend time with your aunt, that’s more important than dumb timesheets. People can be so unempathetic, but there is still kindness in the world, I promise ❤️

That’s terrible. If it’s an out-of-touch person, you should probably do as VP1 and FWD those nasty emails to a superior who is more level-headed.

If your agency is now rearing it’s ugly head and is like a Zimmerman Advertising, where it’s 24/7 fo realz and deadlines come before loved ones, personal time, or even your own health and sanity then I hope you are able to make a speedy exit.

This is all stuff you can worry about at a later date though. Please make the most of your time with your aunt and supporting family and friends during this hard time.

I dealt with something similar when my was dying. She lived out of state and was visiting every other week for 6 months. My immediate supervisor and his boss were very sympathetic, but some members of my actual team members couldn't have cared less. On my last trip, after telling my team she was going into hospice, I still received emails with various requests. My mom passed 2 days later. On that same day, someone had the nerve to ask me to search for an email because she couldn't find it. I responded "I'll search for it as soon as I'm done searching for a funeral home." The response? 'If you can get it to me by EOD, that would be great." Needless to say, our working relationship was never the same. Unfortunately there are unsupportive, non sympathetic folks.

Sending you supportive thoughts and hope things go as best they can.

WTH is wrong with some people? I’m sorry that actually happened to you. Unreal.

Sorry about what you and your family are going through. One thing I love responding with are passive aggressive animated gifs.

Crushed my final two interviews today. I will hear back sometime next week for a verbal offer for a Tech Solutions Consultant on the xWS team. Leaning towards an L4 but maybe they give L5 if the interview feedback was as good as I thought it went. Any thoughts on how I should negotiate base and equity? Maybe ask for sign on too?

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!
