I encountered a new hiring/recruiting tactic today:

Recruiter reached out directly for a private hiring requistion. This isn't common but not an immediate flag.

The flag came later when the were grilling me about specific dates on my resume and then an OTP code from the client website sent to my email address. They wanted to finish submitting my application. When I investigated, they had rewritten my resume with some questionable content.Further, they had listed themselves as the referral.

All, planning to head to France for the race in June. Any tips?

I just found out a new colleague was brought on at 20% higher salary than my current salary. (Have been w/ firm 1.5 years) She doesn’t have a 4-year degree (working on it). I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
