A business woman making more money than me is attractive to me and could be motivating to me to do better. Also a black male.
It is weird to read this post today as I was thinking the same thing last night. I’ve been meeting nice black men, but they seem intimidated by my career and accomplishments, things that I’m grateful for but don’t define me. I figure a man who can be comfortable with the level of success they’ve achieved and be confident, not allowing people/society define success for them, will be able to be with an accomplished woman.
We’re in this together! I hope your Mr Right finds you!
I’m a black woman (obvi) and primarily only interested in black men, but it is so hard for me to find one who I feel is my “equal”. What advice would you give me?
I feel you on this although my situation might be a little different but I see where you’re coming from. I’m an African American male but only an associate with 3 rental properties and people at my level that I’m attracted to could barely hold conversation on important topics besides going out to drink.
I feel like you’re the anomaly AA1 (a very pleasant one, but still rare)! I’m a black woman and have the same struggle as OP. Seems like each guy I date takes my drive and salary to mean they don’t have to put in any effort into the relationship or their own career/goals.
I feel you. Men are afraid of successful and indépendant women. We feel in general like you don’t really need us (which is true). But there are some people, like me who value and brag about their Gfs accomplishments or success. Shit man!!!! You get so excited and happy for having her in your bed every time you see her or make love to her. I like bragging about my woman, how smart and successful she is. I don’t care that she makes more money than me.
I’m with you on that I’m waiting to be able to meet a lady I could brag about 😩🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾.
Explain to them you’re just an audit manager, so only moderately successful as of yet, and definitely not a business woman.
Also, if you’re in a high COL city, explain you make just about enough to comfortably rent a 2-bed flat.
That should help.
@AS1, that’s very debatable. The ability to perform menial work for 14 hours a day is not as rare as you might think. It’s also nothing to be proud of, at least in my opinion.
I’d love dating a successful woman but dating after 26 just isn’t the way it used to be. Seems like our generation doesn’t really want much love anymore
