I got a call for Senior Market Research specialist and the HR provided only 18percent hike and then starts blabbering about the Performance percentages, insurance, wellbeing allowances, free food, subsidized food. They rejected me for the same role in 2025 and now they are lowballing me for the same position. I clearly mentioned them I atleast want a 30 percent hike otherwise there is no enough incentive for me to switch. Basis the reviews I am seeing, I think I should let go the opportunity.

Currently I have offers from 2 companies (say A and B), A is paying more but I want to join B (B is paying less but better brand). Planning to ask B to match salary that A offers. Have 2 doubts:
1) Does companies actually verifies the pay that the competition is offering? (Dont want to ruin my offer with A if B doesn't match the salary)
2) Will it impact my job prospects at A if it gets to know I tried to match their offer from a competition?
