Sounds like you have a great quality of life and make almost $200k in a low COL city at ~35 years old but are focused on 5% of wealth spread out over 12 months pre-tax.
I was about to say that 147k is quite low but then I saw your bonus. You're doing quite well, actually.
If you already got an adjustment I doubt you’d get another. That’s an accomplishment in itself. Honestly, 147 isn’t that bad I’ve heard of worse for similar levels of experience. However for 12 years of experience in SAP you could probably get another 10 to 20 somewhere else but it’s up to you on whether you want to explore options elsewhere and test the waters because the only way you’d probably get another bump is by presenting them with competing offers and saying you’re going to quit but of course that’s never ideal
Thank you, D1. I actually have a competing offer in hand that’s 23K higher base ; however, it will involve relocation to a higher COL state . BUT, a) I truly love my current company and will rather be here - great boss, great colleagues, fun easy work, bonus is strong (45K this year :) but weak base salary; and b) I have strong ties (church, family, house and all in current city). Not really wanting to relocate at the moment but I was heavily recruited off LinkedIn by this other company. Bottom line, I just want my current company to up my base by 10-20K and I’d remain a happy camper .
Try to get the competing company to raise their offer by 10k and then take it to your boss. However you have to remember, they’ll never forget that you were basically threatening to leave for more $ so even if they raise your base by 10k you live with that
Just ask for a bigger bonus opportunity, then do more to earn it
I wish I could get a 45k bonus. 🤷🏽♀️ Does the competing offer come with a sign on bonus? $23k in a higher COL state may end up being a wash. Plus, you have a strong foundation, network, and salary where you are right now.

Based on my experience, there’s nothing wrong with asking for more $ (especially when you know your worth): worst case scenario - you get a No; and best case scenario - you get a Yes. Each time you keep quiet and don’t ask, you are more than likely leaving $ on the table. I will come back to update this group in a month hopefully with positive news; and, I’m not naive nor too young to think more $ necessarily = more happiness in life . But anyways, thanks!

@ D1: The competing offer does not come with a sign on bonus . I agree that the 23K raise in a higher COL is more of a wash than a raise. Plus, you are spot on, I certainly have a stronger network and support system in my current city, which explains why I’m not keen to relocating at the moment.
Some people will never be happy. Keep running after money and update this group when you achieve the so called happiness
Sorry but you’re just misrepresenting the situation conveniently. You were getting outside offers and considered moving to another city. That’s a whole lot more than “asking for more $”. I’m not saying that’s wrong but your whole post seems immature, underprepared, and not thought-through. You cannot complain if people make snide remarks.
