Larsen & Toubro Infotech Is it good time to join Cognizant now for Coimbatore location considering too much attrition in recent times along with many policy changes and do they have enough projects or will there be any chance of layoffs if we don't find any projects for our skill(Tableau in my case)? I have another offer with LTI, Coimbatore for same salary but i prefer CTS more than LNT. Cognizant Larsen & Toubro Infotech
McKinsey & Company I received an offer from McKinsey & Company in 2021 and I’ll be starting later this year after graduation. Obviously because of the pandemic, inflation is slowly trending upwards. Has anyone asked for a base salary increase before even starting the job? Any advice on how to approach this?
Hey Fishes,
Any update on the hike letter ?

I think anyone and everyone that asks this question should be slapped directly across the face by the best, hardest slapper in the world.
Patience is a virtue. PwC2 made the comment because you and others who ask this apparently have none - or are asking to verify a point that is obvious, which means you are TRYING to be impatient without getting screwed. Just be patient OP. it's a week
OP, to D1's point, your claim that I am "full of shit" in this context does not make sense.
The reason I said what I did, is because you (and the other window lickers that ask this question) seem to be incapable of understanding that you are an employee at-will of the firm and if you give notice, the firm has the right to terminate its relationship with you on the spot, just as you are able to terminate your relationship with the firm anytime you please.
Apparently you can't seem to imagine a scenario where you give notice and the firm says "see ya later, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya" right that instant.
If I am the firm and my employment relationship with you is terminated prior to my obligation to pay you a bonus that I'm also not obligated to pay you (because it's above and beyond your normal agreed upon salary), why would I pay you that bonus anyway? Maybe I will, maybe I won't. It's a gamble for you. Are you willing to take the risk?
My suggestion to you is that you keep licking windows for another week and give your notice after that bonus clears your checking account.
Now, we wait for one of your idiot compatriots to come along and ask the same stupid question.
My god why not just wait a week to be safe? No matter what anyone tells you. What reason could you possibly have to chance this?
Can we promote PwC2's summary to a FAQ section so people stop asking the same dumb question?
The term "full of shit" is for disputing what someone claims to be true that you think isn't. It does not apply to someone saying that you should be slapped...that doesn't even make sense.
I actually want to know what reason people have for asking this. Like do they have a one time opportunity to get laid by a supermodel in the next few days but only during business hours? I get the feeling it's just because they have no self control or common sense...
I think you have to be employed on the day of payout. If you put in 2 weeks notice and they decide to terminate you effective immediately, then you may be a$$ed out of that bonus.
PwC 2 your re full of shit my friend. You are saying that if you worked an entire year and now moving on - you are ok with not taking your deserved and earned money. Because? you trust the company so much that you are so confident that the company will pay you out your bonus and maybe real time recognition award on your last day? Ahahaha
P6: of course you can quit and leave the same day. It's just not professional and will burn that bridge.
Carpe diem. Go for it.
Agreed. If your time was truly so valuable for that week, you wouldn't care about the bonus
@ PwC User 2, if employment is at will does that mean OP can collect bonus and then leave the firm without a 2 week notice?
OP is full of shit.
I see K1 has already answered P6's question sufficiently. Can't believe it was even asked, but hey, window lickers everywhere I guess!
Don't quit till after the money hits the account.
Typically, don't put your notice in until the $ hits the bank. I have a great rapport with the partners in my practice and I am leaving to go to a potential client that they have been chasing for years (industry). With six weeks until bonus payouts I didn't want to piss off the new employer without a soft guarantee that I would get my VC, so I had an open/honest convo with the lead partner. He wanted me to leave with my VC, so we held out from putting my official notice in on 10/2 and got my 12% VC convo this week. The money still isn't in the bank, until this weekend (2 days post last day of employment) but the partners know it will burn bridges if it's not received. It was like a chess game, and I still don't know for sure if I won.
If they keep you until next Friday, yes. But they can let you go tomorrow after you put in your notice now, and not pay your
Bonus out next Friday. Remember, you have to be with the firm on the day of the payout
I know a couple of directors who have put in their notice, did directors get their bonus already ?
No they didn’t. Unless they live in Houston.
