I hear so many stories about back to back retrievals showing improvement. I myself had 1 euploid from the first cycle and the next cycle had 3. Sometimes it’s a trial and error thing getting to know your body.
I have felt really low today- thank you so much for sharing this. 💜
If you want more than one child, I would go ahead and bank more. For reference, my first retrieval (at 36), I got 13 eggs and only one made it through to genetically tested normal embryo. I was shocked. Second round, they got 10 eggs and FIVE made it to genetically normal tested embryos. So crazy how each cycle and be so different. I did nothing differently, they were only a few months a part. Good luck! I went to Shady Grove as well.
This gives me hope. My initial numbers were similar. Thank you!
Yes do another retrieval and bank embryos. How many kids do you want? If 1, you will be able to try again shortly after if this embryo doesn’t work.
If more, you really should bank embryos.
Bank it if you can!

I did 2 cycles at age 36 and got much better results the 2nd round. I also had insurance coverage so that removed the financial question. I’d ask your medical team if they have recommendations for what to do differently in a second cycle that could get better results. Different hormones, timing, etc. It’s worth considering another round for sure. Even if you only get 1 more embryo, that’s double what you have now.
It might be a question of what your insurance allows. If they don’t allow you to do embryo banking then you may just have to transfer.
If they do and you want to have a big family, probably best to have an embryo for the future if this one does stick since fertility will continue to decline.
I went from only having 1 euploid in round 1 to 9 in round 2. If your insurance allows it, I would try. Keep in mind by the end you may feel quite burned out (I took ~3 months off after before doing a transfer)
Agreed to a lot of the comments here. Did 2 back to back cycles with the results from the 2nd being better. My best rated embryo was from the 2nd cycle that we used for the transfer.

Do another one. My first retrieval had 1 out of 5 euploid. Second 3 out of 5
Now pregnant with the one from the first retrieval

My sister at 37
Retrieval 1: 0 euploid
Retrieval 2: 2 euploid
Retrieval 3: 4 euploid
There you have it
She has 2 kids now and 4 embryos she does not know what to do with
This was my exact output, also at 37! Currently have one kid, starting the FET process for a hopeful No. 2.
My experience was also that i had "more success" in the 2nd round. When I first did egg freezing at 34, I got 11 eggs that matured into 8. 3 years later I did it again but for embryos; I ended up with 16 eggs that matured into 10, which ended up into 5 euploid embryos.
Good luck! No guarantees the 2nd round will necessarily be better but it does seem that every round can be different.
