I had an interview for a junior tech role this week and the hiring manager spent more time asking behavioral questions than technical ones. Is that becoming more common now? I spent days preparing for technical questions and barely got asked anything about software or tools during the actual interview.

I interviewed for a Google sales role not long ago, and mist of the questions where behavioral and culture fit type questions, very little tine was spent talking about the specifics of the role.

I don't see it as a bad thing. Specialized skills can be taught, cancerous personalities have to be removed and take tissue with them.

like

I can kind of see where the hiring manager is coming from. The junior's job is to be closely managed, to be coachable, to learn and grow into the next step of their career. Yes some technical skill is needed to start with, but I'd personally rather try to figure out if you're going to be a pain to deal with on a day to day basis first.

like

Very common. Technical skills can be learned. Being the right culture fit is something that is more important when you think about it.

Especially for a Jr role as they are expecting to train a Jr right off the bat and were most likely not only checking cultural alignment but how you adapt.

Isnt it obvious? Companies are getting tired of divas and developers are usually champions in that department, followed closely by designers

They don't expect junior people to be experts, they know you'll learn as you grow into the role and gain experience. They're more interested in your work ethic, problem solving skills, and how teachable you are.

I've been following Coforge LinkedIn page, and I have decent offer from them. In one call HR said we will be moving towards 5 days work from Office, to which I said I don't mind. Question is - whenever I compare Coforge with any other people say avoid Coforge.. Why????

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
