Hi all, I was told that my business unit is Finance Risk and Control in JPMC. My profile is Java Fullstack developer. Can anyone help me about this unit ?

I know that some other associates at my level are approximately 30% behind other associates in hours on a month to month basis. Yet all of these associates say they are “at capacity”, and myself and another associate still end up being assigned work instead of them. How do we handle this? For reference, all associates are around the firms minimum requirement, it’s just that a few of us are 30+% over and it is leading to burnout.

What is something you’re just naturally good at but not getting paid to do it?

I don’t get it: Why would anyone invest, for example, in a 6% dividend yield etf with a 0.50% ER (ie EMHY) instead of a 9% dividend yield etf with a 2.5 ER (ie YYY)? Wouldn’t you still be getting better results with the expensive one?

Would you say being a partner is more demanding than being an industry exec?

D 🐠, what was your take home in first year as principal? I assume you all get roughly 350 units and have to finance your buy in. What does that leave for your monthly draw? And after your insurance?

Question for some of the senior partners on this bowl: do you mind sharing what does the the top end of partner comp look like? Is it like 2-3M annually? And how many years it took you to get there after becoming partner?

What was the first thing you did once you become partner? I am assuming heavy pressure on selling more than what you were selling before?

For those that are home grown (at least 2 levels) into the PPMD level, how has your relationship with juniors that you’ve been close to from the start evolved?
