I would dig into what problems would you need us to solve. Ask is there a budget and identify the use cases and then deliver cost based on their needs.
Also if they see urgent understanding what is driving them to move fast. Don’t shutdown the conversation. Every conversation can lead to a deal or at least a recommendation

Not much different then interviewing for a job. Even IF everything is right, when the price doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out. I’d give a rough outline of pricing before moving forward.

I actually don't mind it at all when these questions pop up early. It speeds up the weed out process for both parties. I'll give some basic info on what our discount policy looks like based on account minimums and keep the conversation going as long as they don't balk. If they do, I've saved both of us time. Win-win.
