I have also contemplated this. I just left a toxic job and I felt like my new one was going that way. I am afraid to start searching again since I haven’t been here that long. I understand the concern about the possibility of being out of work and not earning a salary. In your case, if the overnight shifts disturb your commute, life, etc, I’d definitely start looking, at least casually. I’d start thinking of professional ways to phrase why you are seeking a new opportunity. For now, I’d work with the manager to find the best solution for your schedule. In any case, it’s not right for them to be smug about anything, and they should be requesting and not demanding anything.

Agreed. I’d be prepared to speak about the gap in your resume though, they may ask. I’d ask a short, professional response just in case
Yup same here! Most of my jobs were super toxic including this current one. I been here for about 6 months and I really wanna quit and just like you I won't be without a paycheck

I suggest that you begin carrying a digital recording device. Behavior like that is against the law. You can take it to HR, or even better, find a labor attorney. If he saying it to you, then he's also saying it to others.
And I’m sure this person doesn’t agree with what they’re going through😂
I dont understand why they have to be so toxic and more importantly, howd they get there in the first place.
Maybe try to find someone who is qualified and wants to do nights and present them to your manager, offering to train them.
Sometimes really you gotta lie to get a job now I lied about having experience as an EVS and I talked myself up and they hired me. Also lied about my job history too to get a job before
