I'm considering a career shift from Management Consulting to tech sales. I'm concerned this transition might be too risky. Current job is stable with consistent raises. 401k match, and completely paid premiums. My salary is 132k and a 7k bonus. Plus extra time, I'll probably make 145k this year.
I have a toddler and a my wife works full time raising our son. We do not intend on her going back to her career for another 3 years.
7 years experience. Is a transition with similar pay possible?

I’m negotiating my upcoming maternity leave, as I just found out that there’s no standard policy at my company today. I’m also finding wildly different policies out there at other SaaS companies for AEs.

At my last company, it was 100% full OTE payout during the 12wk mat leave with no quota ramp offered upon return.

I spoke with another company recently who offers 16wk 100% base + 50% variable or full deal payout (whichever is higher) and 3 month quota ramp upon return.

But salary negotiations didn't went well and they didn't release the offer letter. Again after 2weeks I was interviewed by TCS & cleared the technical round, but this time after uploading the documents they came back to me & said they couldn't process my profile, As different BU has already started my process & kept on hold. I went for 3 interviews with a company met with vp and was given package thinking I aced interview there was another candidate 😞 the other person for the job. The VP calls me to tell me I didn’t get position however he wants me to re apply in new year that something else will be open, and that he wanted to keep a copy of my resume what does this mean ? Should I apply again in new year or don’t bother ?

I’m 90% certain my owners are selling our privately held financial services company. This is a family owned company and they have always been very generous and cared for their employees. I’m not sure whether I should start pursuing other opportunities and cash out my PTO or stay until the end and hope they want to still care for their employees once the acquisition is complete. Hi fishes!.. I am a Test engineer in a mindtree pvt. ltd. Mindtree gives me the project of cisco which is based on the Networking(switch testing). I didn't have much experience in networking or I don't like the Networking testing. I have one year of experience in automation testing with Selenium java WebDriver, TestNG, cucumber bdd framework. I am comfortable in these things not in networking. I talked to my HR and Manger for changing the project but the didn't change.
