Each department is different, I work on the clinical side, so cannot speak to fair offers in your department. But I would ask more in depth about the “possible 8% bonus”. My understanding is that the bonus amount increases each year-2% first year, then 4%, 6% and capped at 8% year 4 and beyond. And it is also based on meeting/exceeding your department goals for the year. You may want to ask additional questions with this knowledge, and then say something like, based on this clarification, can I ask that you consider starting me at $95k… the worst they can say is no.

Always try and negotiate. If they offered 90k then a counter offer of 95 seems pretty reasonable. For what it’s worth, I just accepted a role with Centene but they declined my counter offer when I tried negotiating (I countered with 3% more than what they offered)

Oh man I would love to jump into a role like this! Honestly I would jump at that salary and bonus, but you could try to negotiate for more. It’s hard to say because I don’t know your situation.
I negotiated with Centene when I was hired. If they want you, they will pay you fairly. Definitely negotiate
