I have a shih tzu and he hates to go for walks. If I try to take him for a walk he likes to pee every 10 ft and then will just lay down and refuse to move after like 1/2 mile. Anyone else have a dog like this and vets do you have advice?

That's called scent marking and it's an instinct for them. Good news is you can train them to stop doing that by blocking the object/area they want to pee on or redirecting their attention elsewhere. As for the lying down part, how long have you been taking that dog on walks?

Idk, I've seen scent marking before but this is extreme. I honestly think he's just stubborn AF.

He sounds like me lol I wish I could just lay in the grass also. but I would try going in a different route sometimes that helps because your dog is excited to see new things
