I have about 15 years experience in RCM operations including billing, claims processing, follow-up, provider relations, payer relations and most recently coding for minor procedures and E/M leveling, but have less than a year of direct coding. I have CCS cert, am working on CPC, and as a recent BSHIM graduate am working on taking the RHIA. I am wondering what employers look at regarding coding experience with what I have.

£50k TC, 2.6YoE working within the change arm of a bank ——- what do experienced fishes think is a good next move for someone like myself? Might want to move into consulting one day with ultimate aim of MBB but also enjoy technical coding work, particularly in credit risk / counterparty credit risk in banking — could use some fresh perspective ; quite confused atm as interested in many things! Do you miss anything about the non-executive portion of your career journey?

Is it more worth it to go into FDD at a regional firm now, or hope that my current big 4 will transfer me come spring 2021?

I'm kind of in the mindset of only doing FDD at big 4, otherwise I'll go straight to industry. Am I being too down on mid-market FDD experience and the related exit ops?

Also, I can't go the route of doing FDD at a different big 4. Already got rejected by all of them cause I'm not in audit (but have CPA).

Has anyone got any tips for making a strong start to a consulting career? Have 6 months experience and trying to temperature check how things are going / what I could do more of.
