I have an approved 140 with the 485 filed early august. My priority date is current, but I hear the process can still take anywhere between 9-19 months. Is it possible to switch employers before my 485 is approved? Will the new employer have to file the 485 again or just perm and i140?

If in your employee handbook states that if you leave within the first year of your green card, you need to pay back all the expenses, but when the green card was initiated, I did not sign anything, can they hold me to it and ask me to pay?

I currently have my EAD based on my OPT with an addition 2 year renewal. I have also submitted a marriage based GC application in Nov 2021, did my biometrics currently waiting on my interview. I have an offer from a tech company and want to leave my current employer. I am worried if I tell my upcoming employer about being currently on OPT they will freak out and take back their offer even doh I can work and don’t need their sponsorship.

Do I have to tell ? Has anyone experience this before?

I just put in my notice at my company for a new job that only cleared level 1 wages (and certainly wouldn’t clear whatever 45th percentile is). Haven’t filed the transfer yet. How screwed am I? Should I ask my new job to file the transfer without premium processing in the hopes that the new DOL wage rule gets struck down by the time my transfer is processed?

Abandoning Green Card
Has anybody experience in giving up the LPR status after leaving the US for work and residency in another country/homecountry? I come from a low tax country and wonder whether Uncle Sam will send a final tax bill or penalty fee or even make it difficult/impossible for me to abandon the GC once I will leave the US again. This is crucial for me to apply for the GC.

Anyone from big4 has experience in having its H1b transfer filed within a week after accepting the offer?
