I would submit the resignation on Monday. You will receive the evaluation regardless and are already aware you won’t be receiving the bonus. This will allow you to provide adequate notice, not burn bridges and leave your door open. Good luck with your transition!
I mean it honestly doesn't matter when you resign if you are already going to have to forego the bonus. I don't blame you for taking a week off in between jobs though. I always try to do that if I can because its nice to relax and prepare for starting your new role.
It sounds like you have to do it on Monday if you want to give four weeks notice and have a week off before 9/9. Best of luck with the transition!
Agree with others on this since you already will forego the bonus. This allows everyone to be on the same page about planning for next steps. Congrats on the new job!
I mean… you could just tell the new company you have to give 4 weeks notice and tell them that would allow you to start on x date (a week after your actual end date with current company). Yah also resign whenever you want with your current, I usually would give the requested amount of time whether it’s 2 or 4 weeks but align that with when you want to start new job.
Congratulations on the job offer! Here’s a suggestion:
1. Complete your performance review: It’s professional and ensures valuable feedback.
2. Resign after the review: Show respect for the process and avoid burning bridges.
3. Discuss your timeline: Explain your need for a week off before the new job and see if there's flexibility with the four-week notice.
This approach maintains good relationships and gives you time to recharge. Good luck!
