Some companies like calling it “informal” so if they don’t like you, it is easier to ghost you, because you were not part of the formal process. Rude, I know.
I already had a formal interview with hiring manager and he seemed to like me. She said I will want you to just meet with a senior director for culture fit because I really don’t believe in those interviews but I have to follow the process.
In my experience for an analyst role with RBC they told me was an informal “coffee” chat but it wasn’t. It was very formal and got both behavioural and technical question. I’ve interview twice with rbc and both were the same style yet called “informal”
God that's stressful, why call it a coffee chat if it's an actual interview?!?! Anyways OP, I would treat it as an interview and prep like that. Maybe that's part of what they're testing you on, making sure you're always prepared lol
"Informal" coffee meetings is their way of testing your behavior that's why BDC1 told you the questions were behavioral.
It would be situational and some basic questions, for sure. But be ready with some technical ones just in case. Best of luck!
