I have an MBB first round of interviews later today, but why am I not as excited or as nervous as I should be? Strange

No, you have been doing this for every project. You know what you have done better than interviewers. So, just be calm and collected; you'll do fine. Good luck!

Saw that an old friend was a consultant at BCG and just messaged him to say hi, talked for a bit and he asked if he could refer me (probably because you get a referral bonus). And I'm a first year associate

like

Traitor...haha jk! Good luck! What's the role?

like

I just did round 2 with MBB, was also underwhelmed by the prospect, and am really not all that excited about R3. Seems odd, thought I'd be more excited / engaged.

like

Referred by former client who was ex-MBB

like

Maybe cause you're not doing much different?

like

No, Pre MBA, and sorry I was interviewing for an associate role, I'm a first year analyst (going on my second year soon)

like

Yeah referrals are the way to go. We're all happy to try to get the referral bonus if we believe you'd be a good fit. I've referred 4 people and everyone has gotten an interview (no offers yet though :/).

like

I've referred a ton of ppl, one person has gotten offer, 1 person got a phone screen and the rest never heard back...

like

Good luck!

Good luck !

If you guys don't mind me asking, how'd you get your foot in the door? Referrals?

What roles are these??

Consulting. For me, it was in their Marketing Strat practice.

OP, r u in strategy? Post MBA?

Hi everyone. I'm pretty early in my career (just over 1 YOE) & not really enjoying my current role as a Consultant/Developer because of the type of projects I get combined with some mobility issues. However, I'm really interested in technical program management or project management and I'm looking for any advice on how to get there bc I've been applying, but can't even seem to get a call back.

I like to apply for Product Manager roles at Amazon since I like the role. I have done front office CRM (SAP) implementations for Fortune50 clients through Accenture.
It is more of sitting with users to understand their process and map it to CRM suite and build additional features to map their specific processes.
I have also worked on sales, BD and functional spec creation for new features.
Can I count these as Product Management experience while applying for Amazon or other Faangmula?

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me.
