Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

Consulting you sort of have a life and sort of have some money. IB you have zero life and a lot of money.
Me: work around 60 hours, occasionally pass 70.
My roommate in IB: consistently worked 90+ hours, go into office every weekend. Same base salary as mine, but his target bonus is about 100% of his salary.......
Skill-wise, I learned a lot about communication, he learned a lot about the industry.
Ending: we both left to join tech.....
did you do strategy or MC at PwC?
Biggest regret on mine was not pursuing banking - if you are OK with long hours and all the shit that comes with it (which sometimes is similar to consulting), I think pay and exit opps are better - I am going to MBA just to pivot to banking
I will also add that a majority of my friends and family are in IB and PE and all have 100% said had they not got those jobs they would be in consulting....so both surely good options
There’s a lot to talk about, but basically:
If you want to be in finance (read: if you want PE, go to IB not consulting) or just want a ton of $ but don’t care about anything else in your life: IB
Interest in business, travelling, still good pay but also not as horrible wlb: consulting.
Unless you have a burning passion for consulting or cannot work 90 hours a week in your early 20s instead of 70 hours a week, do IB.
What’s best way to pivot into PE?
^ that.
