I struggle with confidence and my self esteem a lot. I feel like I’ve tried everything to work on it. Self help books, self care (working out, skin care and treating myself), affirmations. I’ve done it all and nothing seems to work. Is there anything you ladies do that works for you?
Hi all, I’m looking for ways to develop myself professionally. I would love recommendations or tips on how you continue education in your field to stay relevant and continue to learn about different marketing strategies. Any tips on really good conferences, programs, classes, books, would be so so appreciated. I’m currently a senior manager for local marketing activations on a planned path to become a director. Thank you!
Hi Ladies! I’m transitioning to a manager of a team I’ve been leading. There’s been a lot of turnover with the team and I feel like I’m having a hard time getting the team to see me more as an authoritative figure. For example, when I ask for volunteers on a simple task, no one replies. Should I just resort to assigning rather than asking? Also are there leadership books you suggest that I could read up on? Thank you!
Good audiobook recommendations?? (Not just “self-help/business” books; open to all recommendations)
What's with the saturation of self help/ productivity books on social media (reddit, Instagram etc.) ? Not saying I don't mind reading them, but I see this quite a bit. Know a few people who consciously only read non fiction instead. Just thinking aloud over here. Would like to hear what you guys think ?
Looking for pharma-specific market access/product launch/life cycle management books/textbooks! Total rookie in this space. Thank you!
At what level in account management do you start getting bonuses or commission on how much your book of business grows? Is this something I should be negotiating in offer letters?
Anyone have good NON-FICTION recommendations? Enjoy self-help and psychology books (as long as they’re not overly pedantic). Already read grit, outliers, atomic habits, running (haruki murakami)
Would you say summaries are as effective for self help books like "the subtle art of giving a fk" and other similar books? I feel the books themselves ramble on too much on a side story only to tell a point that could be summed up in a couple sentences. Or am I just not getting good book recommendations for growth/development on mental well being and productivity
Managers, do you feel it's the stronger performers who are less likely to take advantage (book later morning flights and earlier go home flights)? I've been noticing this a lot from my mediocre ppl.
There's a ton of self help and leadership books out there to help people in their careers. If there was one that was written front the lense of a public accounting, would you read it?
Any self-help books you ladies recommend/ have left an impact on you? Please share below 😊
Anyone have an recs for self help books that help with work anxiety? I've felt so low on the totem pole since I joined in 2015 that I rarely give any opinions at the office. Obvi this is (cont'd)
Best self-help books on the market? I've been consistently unhappy lately. Something needs to change.
What time do you booked your return flights on Thursday's? Awesome managers have let me book as early as 4:30 PM.
Does anyone know of any business oriented, but novel/fictional books with interesting characters? Not looking for self-help, more of actual literature with business themes/plots.
Over 40, still a manager. Primarily doing technical program management. Not seeing any immediate growth at the current company. Any advice or books/resources that can help to reboot the career
Ok so. I have been on this journey for almost a year now to try and 'get to know and love myself' and I'm not there yet. I separated from my ex in March of 2020 and divorce was finalized in October 2020. I'm still sad, lost, angry etc. I'm trying/tried therapy, meditation, ayurveda, self help videos, books, but I'm not happy with myself and I don't think I know myself. I want to be happy alone before I meet anyone new. Any tips or advice on how I can effectively accomplish this? Thank you!
Survived the layoffs on friday-but still shook up from seeing a bunch of my friends get walked out all around me. When a layoff happens should I be updating my resume/looking to get off the ship?
I can see so many ex MBB consultants in Meesho currently. Any idea why this is and if Meesho is a good exit from consulting? I have an interview scheduled but not really sure if I should go for it or not.
Stay or go? 3rd year associate 65k salary or go to unrelated industry fp&a focused more towards analytics for 85k
Do you guys show promotions on your official resumes? Like how many years at each role or do you just say SC or M or whatever?
Today marks 6 months since my dad died from Covid. Thinking about all of you who lost loved ones during this difficult time
Can someone compare (type of work, exit opps, comp, etc.) consulting at a major firm for a tech sector group vs. a financial services sector group?
I know we all love the work from home (or do we?) but does anyone actually miss traveling for their consulting engagements and all the fun that goes along with it? The late nights at the office then the bar and random hookups and excitement and all that? Sure it’s a grind but I think I actually miss it too. Maybe I just miss seeing people at work or seeing people at all. I wonder if we’ll ever get back to that.
Has anyone who is transition into data science, got an interview call based only on POC's?

Alvarez & Marsal friends - is the firm still hiring (even if onboarding is delayed)? And, if so, would anyone be open to providing a referral?
Does anybody here own a holiday home and rent it out? Thinking of building one but given there's barely any tourism I'm thinking my funds could go further elsewhere.
Unrelated to law, but need some advice on how to help a friend. One of my best friend’s dad is in the hospital in really bad shape. She’s home with her mom and siblings. I want to send food or do something for them, especially since they just found out they may have been exposed to covid when visiting their dad at the hospital (not by their dad), and they have to quarantine for 2 weeks. If I were closer I’d make food and drop it off, but they’re 200 miles away. Any ideas?
Happy layoff hunger games
Got a 4 in my first year but not on a PIP. My current project is going very well. Is there any chance for me to get promoted next year ?
Have an interview tomorrow with M&A finance group, manager role. What are the typical questions in the technical interview and case study?Deloitte
New project has finally got together a solid team. We're kicking off some new work within the next few weeks. I also might get my offer from my firm in a few weeks... how bad does jumping ship look?
