I have argued a motion in state court. I am arguing the same motion in federal court for the first time. Obviously, the substance of the motion itself is different, but is there any difference in the experience of arguing in state versus federal court? I know the judge will likely be more prepared but I am unsure if there are different formalities.

For those of you in healthcare related account management, what is your healthcare background? I am clinical and getting ready to hire a higher level account manager. I am really biased toward people with clinical/in hospital experience because, quite frankly, healthcare is a different beast - lots of hand holding and change management. How do you transition from big 4 consulting to big law? My clients are all funds, and I do international tax consulting. I have used my connections to refer me into probably 10 big law firms and it’s not working. One most recently came back and said they aren’t interested bc I have no law firm experience. How am I supposed to get it though? I can’t go to lower ranked firms bc my clients are all “big.” … any suggestions appreciated!

So I've been at my job for 5+ years as a data analyst/back office support team. I made my way up into making a little over $40k. I've been WFH the past 2 yrs and overtime more than half my team has now been pulled out to work for a diff department which resulted in me taking 90% of our daily tasks to handle. Best big law firms for white collar defense?

Does anyone else constantly put off putting their time in as they go and then hate their life at the end of the month? Then once you get caught up, you don’t want to enter more time, and so you fall behind again. It’s a vicious cycle.

Is there anyone on here who’s switched sides - from defense to plaintiff - and can speak to their experience / general things to think about? I’ve just moved and gone on/going through multiple interview rounds with a big defense firm and a plaintiffs firm doing high verdict litigation (established enough to pay pretty good associate salaries). Not trying to jinx myself before any offers, but I’ve really liked the people at both firms and want to take my time to consider all angles (cont)
