Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

You're good, dont ask for more money, then they will think you're not happy, and this is where the trouble begins. You're making $12,000 a month before taxes so dont live beyond your means dont hand your children everything thinking they will appreciate it. Tell them to get a job unless they're under 13 years old and save your money and invest a small percentage of your money wisely and tell your wife and kids the same
thank you
How much of an increase would you be content with? Have you had salary conversations in the past or just received raises and increases as they are provided? I would do some research to see if you are in the range for similar roles and responsibilities, especially in your geographic area, and if you believe you have a case for an increase request to add as an agenda item at next performance review. Be prepared, don’t allow emotions to take control. Good luck!
thank you

You’re not far off from growth relative to revenue increase. The question to ask yourself is what losing you will cost the company to replace. If that 2.8M is sticky to the company and not you then losing you might not be the drastic impact you expect. On the other hand, if you have a pipeline of growth for additional revenue impact, that gives you some legs to stand on for a request to increase.
Thank you
