Do you ever feel like there are rooms you’re locked out of? I’m a black woman, i lateraled to my group a few months ago with minimal onboarding and welcome. A white woman joined recently and everyone has bent over backwards to make her feel welcome and get her integrated into the group. People have invested less in me and it’s going to show in a few years when she’s up for partner and I’m still catching up.

Colleague has put in his resignation. They are offering him whatever he wants to stay including 4days a week work from home. He’s not bluffing and plans to leave. However, at this same time I was asked to begin working as a supervisor for the engineering team and I would get a promotion at the beginning of the year. When people refer to e-commerce exits they are typically referring to platforms like amazon. If I’m more interested in working for an e-commerce store/seller rather than a platform is there a better term for this so I can research better?

I grew up with a lot of social anxiety so I can't really believe I'm saying this, but my favorite thing about working at a store is that I have to talk to people every day. It's really helped me come "out of my shell" and stepping outside of my comfort zone has given me more confidence than I ever thought it would.

I cringe when I'm at a friend's house and they answer their phone, find out it's a telemarketer, and just hang up on them. It's so rude. They know I have to cold-call people at my job and you'd think they would at least act like they were more respectful of the job.

I'm going to yell at the next person that suggests "just talking on the phone all day" is easy. Telemarketing is the hardest job I've ever had
