Sounds like you need to continue your trading strategy just slightly up the risk per position. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Yeah, now I am doing it in my retirement accounts but fully managing risk.
how far out were the expiration dates on contracts or better said, what were the average expiration dates you would go with on winning trades?
Usually no more than 3-5 weeks. I am actually shortening to 2-4 weeks now.
I started doing options in my tIRA.
Are you doing credit spreads? Or long puts and calls?
Credit spreads were a god send for 9 out of 10 trades but the tenth would wipe out any gains.
The wheel (puts and calls on one stock at different times) is similar to stock ownership.
And approximately how much time did you spend for it?
That will tell whether it is worth it or not.
And if one was invested in the right stocks - that’s an amount one would have earned by hardly spending any time
Options are a long game for sure. I spent significant time learning and losing.
It’s also fun and much more intriguing than holding stock. Ppl should do both.
