I have read many books about Wall Street and have friends who work there and have always been amazed at how many firms seem to look up to and want to emulate Goldman Sachs. From the now defunct Merrill Lynch and Lehman Bros. and even such august firms as Lazard Freres, the old-school Paine Webber, and yeah even Citi Bank/Group, Morgan Stanley et al, they all seem to have this mystique -like view of GS. Some may be biased, but can anyone tell me what the frig makes GS such a "legend" on WS?

I feel inadequate and unsure of how or if to acknowledge the US/Buffalo racist murders and terrorism of this weekend in the workplace. I don’t want to do disservice or unintentionally further traumatize anyone. I know my Black colleagues are traumatized. I am horrified. I recently had an interview with HCL and cleared 2 rounds of technical interview. I waited for a week for HR call but no such call was received. I then contacted the POC who scheduled the interview (he is an HCL employee) and he said that I have been shortlisted and will receive HR call shortly.
