Naw, WFH. Sitting with my dingo right now.
Don’t tell my dog or he might put himself up for adoption! 😂
I walk to the door, tell my doggo I love him, and throw a treat in the opposite direction so I don't see him staring at me when I walk through the door. Works every time.
Yes! Haha. I also tell my dog that I’ll be home in x hours.
I take my dogs to the office because small firm.
From a training perspective, it can help for you not to react to the welcoming parade when you get home, and they will stop freaking out when you leave. If you show your dog that coming and going is routine, they won’t react to it so much. I know it’s hard to ignore the puppy love when you get home but this was recommended to me by a professional when my dog had crazy separation anxiety and I didn’t yet work at a dog friendly office.
Mental stimulation helps (like one of those toys you fill with peanut butter and they have to figure out how to get it) as well as cannabis treats to help with anxiety, if that’s an issue.
For sure! My dog is 2 and barely lifts his head when I come in the door because I did what you suggested when he was an actual puppy! I have a camera and watch my dog while I’m gone and he is not concerned with my absence. I just feel bad!
