You would need to do something bananas to get fired from a single presentation. Like cuss out your principal or intentionally flash the room or something.
Presenting is mostly about confidence. If you're nervous, the first thing to do is know the material cold. Legit say the entire presentation - out loud - a bunch of times until you know basically everything without notes. If you have any charts or figures or whatever, just know what you want to highlight. When you hit an awkward part, just go back a little and say it again until you get it right. Once you know the content it'll get much easier. Just imagine you're talking to a friend trying to explain the issue to them. Practice a couple more times and make sure you're getting the tone right as you're talking.
There are lot of little touches that you can add to come off even better (make sure you thank the person at the top of the presentation, learning how to 'Yes, and...' with questions, working on your speed and tone, work in jokes, etc.), but if you can do the above, you're most of the way there.
Also, if this is a virtual presentation, cheat. Buy or make a teleprompter for yourself or at least put your notes basically in line with the camera. No reason to make your life hard.
Good luck, OP! You've got this!
Rest assured that people are often not paying much attention in the first place. Even if you feel like you slipped up, just brush it off and keep going! You’ll be good, and you’ll only get better over time.
Go get a beta blocker from your doctor and the presentation will be a breeze.
