Always include a late fee clause in your contracts
Where do you live? Some states, like New York, have Freelance Isn’t Free Las that give you avenues of recourse. If not specified, the payment terms are Net 30 in NY.

If you signed anything which specifies a longer than net 30 payment the nyc freelancer law doesn’t apply
Nothing specific was agreed on for a late fee prior to contract. But this is a long time. Almost 90 days.

Late fees are a myth. Like ‘weekend rates’
Unless it’s pre-negotiated and in writing there’s very little recourse.
Something I do when working for clients that don’t provide freelance agreements is provide one of my own. (I copy and pasted an agency provided one from a few years ago and changed the names). It lays out payment terms, rates, roles, etc.
