Consultant > Experienced Consultant > Senior Consultant > Manager > Senior Manager > Director (director being close to a partner type level, generally)
yes theres senior directors and managing directors
We don’t use the term Partner specifically. Director is basically equivalent to a partner, but there are also Senior Directors, Managing Directors, and Senior Managing Directors. There aren’t very many of those top couple levels at the moment, they’re basically practice/office leads when they do exist.
Really strong M&A and Healthcare practice from what I hear as well
I'm from EY-TAS... so you are saying better than EY-TAS M&A brand?
clients in a completely market space, most of these MMs you've probably never heard of
Thank you WM fishes for the information. Just one more quick question. Is there a time frame for which you are on one particular rank? For ex. In EY, usually you are Staff for 2 years, Senior for 3 years, Manager for 3 years and SM for any number of years before becoming Partner. Do you have any like that, especially for Senior Manager?
Senior Manager is probably one of the harder ones to peg a specific timeline to. At lower levels, there’s a more clear progression and timeline you can plan for. At SM, your ability to sell and open doors at target clients is key. The fastest, if you were truly a perfect fit and hit the ground running off the bat, I’d say was 2 years. That is unlikely though. I’d guess anywhere from 3-5 years, but ultimately depends on your fit.
I’m not an SM or higher so I don’t have hands on experience, this is just observation. If any of the other WMPers on here are SM or higher, chime in.
