I’ve met some of the hardest-working and some of the laziest people ever at every age range. I think the generalization is the worst thing. Not wanting to be beholden to a company is a wonderful aspect of the younger generation, and we could use a lot more of it, in my opinion.

I agree above, I’ve seen a mixture. But it can be all about giving the younger generation a chance in life and helping them along the way ( we was all young and in our first jobs once) and I remember when I was young and fresh out of school it is such a massive change going into the real world!
Wanting flexibility isn’t laziness, it’s a rejection of burnout culture. Gen Z is setting boundaries that many of us wish we had set earlier. They’re asking for balance, not handouts.
Personally, I hope the stereotype of “hustle = worth” fades out. Being constantly busy shouldn’t be a badge of honor. Let’s normalize being present, prioritizing mental health, and living full lives outside of work.
