I keep a couple months expenses in checking, about 6 months in HYSA and the rest in brokerage. Depends if you have any significant nearer term large expenses coming up

Lol

Lol y’all too rich for your own good

Not quite, my expenses are just below LCOL levels

Almost all in brokerage. Because I feel like if I need money I can just sell some stocks for 6 months of emergency fund. I would not have done this if I was younger and if I didn’t save enough.

My fiancé and I (ages 30 and 31) are about to buy a house. We would put down 10% for a 835k purchase price. Our combined income is $265k. We both have around 7-10k left in emergency funds (each) and combined about 200k for retirement. Our mortgage is $4,500 a month and we split a car payment for $800. Is this an okay financial decision or should we have bought a cheaper house/saved more?

my s.o. and i have a total salary of 210k and we’re 28/25 respectively. her parents ordered a tesla y for 70k and paid off 45k so far. we live in chicago and they are in iowa so they figured it’ll be better use for us to have the car. we’ll pay off the current loan and pay them back the amount they paid throughout the next 8 years interest free. is this even a good deal for us or are we able to get too much car for our age?

Come out of your comfort zone and start looking for new opportunities. I think this is the best time to switch if u haven't already in quite some time.

We live in a cheap apartment ($1.3k) that is sh*tty. Don’t quite have a down payment (especially not in ATX). Is it dumb to rent a house for a year at $3k/month while we save up again?

We both didn’t come from $ and are figuring out how to not be idiots 🙃 tbh we would prefer to rent forever but that feels dumb???
