I ignored implied volatility once… never again. Opened a call position right before earnings, stock went up 5%, but my options barely moved. Turns out IV crush wiped out most of the gain. I learned my lesson, but damn, that one stung. Anyone else have a brutal IV crush story that still haunts them?

Don’t do earnings trade. No point.

OP, we’ve all been there, so don’t sweat it. House wins. Sell IV on the same ticker next go around and teach it a lesson.

New to US. Which brokers offer best margin accounts? For e.g. I have equities worth $100K and want to trade options. Is there a broker where I can do so without paying more in collateral money - essentially using stocks as collateral, and also not paying margin interest. Was able to do so in London, Hong Kong, and India. However, Robinhood here doesn’t seem to allow it.

[Help]

I started trading during Covid crash. Started with equities and eventually moved to options. Earlier lost a month's salary and then lot more trying to recover it. Currently have lost my yearly salary worth and it's affecting all aspects of my life (job, marriage, health). I have tried to convince myself to consider it a loss but always get back trying to recover it.

Any advice how to deal with it. Thanks.
